GEO and AEO services

Generative engine optimization and answer engine optimization services

Generative engine optimization (GEO), also called answer engine optimization (AEO), is the work of making a brand's approved public information easy for AI systems to retrieve, verify and cite when they answer questions. AnswerShare is a technical GEO agency: we build, operate and measure a machine-readable layer that carries the same facts the brand already publishes, then report what AI engines say about it.

No agency can guarantee a specific AI answer. AI outcomes are probabilistic and vary by engine, prompt, model and date. What AnswerShare changes is the quality and organization of the source information available before the answer is generated, and what it publishes is dated evidence of what happened afterward.

How a GEO engagement works

AnswerShare is an implementation and managed-operation service, not only a monitoring dashboard. An engagement follows four steps, and the cycle repeats.

  1. Measure

Establish site readiness, information coverage, crawler access and observed answers to a defined set of prompts.

  2. Implement

Organize the brand's approved facts, entities, relationships and evidence into a machine-readable source layer, reviewed and approved by the client before it ships.

  3. Operate

Keep the layer aligned with the site, inspect delivery and observe crawler activity. A signed webhook tells AnswerShare when approved source content changes.

  4. Measure again

Compare dated observations without presenting probabilistic outcomes as guarantees.

What the client gets

  • A machine layer: clear descriptions of the company, its offerings, audiences and locations, with explicit relationships among people, credentials, offerings and evidence. Source links, dates and limitations sit next to the facts they qualify.
  • Clean semantic HTML, JSON-LD for structured entities and relationships, and discovery resources such as llms.txt, llms-full.txt, machine indexes and sitemaps.
  • Reporting on crawler activity, user-triggered retrieval, prompt coverage, mentions, citations, recommendations and referrals. Each is a different signal and is reported with its own date, prompt and measurement window.
  • Google AI Overviews tracked as an answer surface by inclusion, cited sources and query coverage, not forced into an invented score.

What stays the same on the client's website

The existing website remains the source of truth and the machine layer changes the representation of approved facts, not the substance of the claims. No CMS plugin, theme edit, code injection or origin-server installation is part of the managed service, and the client's publishing and approval process does not change.

Human visitors and traditional search crawlers such as Googlebot and Bingbot receive the existing site. The integration is edge routing plus a one-way signed webhook, and it passes through the client's normal technical and security review. Disabling the edge route removes it without a CMS migration.

How GEO relates to SEO and PR

GEO is related to SEO but distinct. SEO determines whether a page is in the candidate pool an AI system might draw from. GEO addresses whether that page is then retrieved, parsed, grounded, trusted and cited when the AI breaks a prompt into many internal sub-queries. Both matter, and AI has not replaced the SEO foundation it depends on.

AnswerShare does not replace SEO or PR. SEO supports discovery, PR and independent coverage provide corroboration, and the machine layer makes the brand's own approved information easier for AI systems to retrieve and connect to that evidence.

What AnswerShare does not claim

  • It does not control an AI system's opinion, ranking, citation, recommendation or response.
  • Improved site readiness does not guarantee citations or recommendations. Readiness, crawler retrieval, mention, citation, recommendation, referral and conversion are different measurements.
  • Timing is a projection, not a measurement. The FAQ states that deployment typically takes two to four weeks, that a measurable change in GEO score is typically visible within 30 days and that citation lift compounds over roughly 60 to 90 days, varying with starting authority and vertical.

LAVIDGE (now an AnswerShare reseller partner), 15 days after implementation

The published case study reports LAVIDGE (now an AnswerShare reseller partner) ranked or surfaced on all five tested engines 15 days after AnswerShare implementation. For the prompt "Recommend an ad agency in Phoenix" the structured results record Perplexity #1, Grok #2, Gemini #3, Claude #4 and ChatGPT surfaced without a numeric rank. The signed receipt records its signing time, not the date the engines were queried. These results were recorded while LAVIDGE was piloting its own site implementation, before it became an AnswerShare reseller partner. They are not results from an unaffiliated client.

V Digital Services (now an AnswerShare reseller partner), a dated sequence including a dip

On 2026-06-17 five of five engines omitted V Digital Services (now an AnswerShare reseller partner) on an enterprise-SEO prompt. After its machine layer went live on 2026-07-13, a 2026-07-16 audit on a different Phoenix prompt placed it #1 in Perplexity and Grok and #2 in ChatGPT, and Perplexity placed it #1 again on 2026-08-02. On 2026-07-22 ChatGPT did not surface it on two prompts. The prompts differed and no like-for-like rerun was performed. These results were recorded while V Digital Services was piloting its own site implementation, before it became an AnswerShare reseller partner. They are not results from an unaffiliated client.

Frequently asked questions

What is a GEO agency?

A GEO agency works on how generative AI systems retrieve, describe and cite a brand. AnswerShare is a technical GEO agency: it builds and operates a machine-readable layer of a brand's approved public facts and measures how AI crawlers and answer surfaces use it.

What does GEO stand for?

GEO stands for generative engine optimization. AnswerShare uses GEO as an indicator of a site's readiness for AI ingestion, verification, reasoning and inference in one visit. It is not an AI opinion score, a search ranking, a citation count or a promised recommendation.

How does answer engine optimization work?

The work happens at the source. The brand's approved facts, entities, relationships and evidence are organized so a machine can retrieve and verify them without reconstructing the story from navigation and scripts. Then mentions, citations and recommendations are measured across defined prompts and engines, with dates, and the cycle repeats.

Is SEO dead now with AI?

AnswerShare does not make that claim. SEO decides whether a page is in the pool of pages an AI system can draw from, and AI has not replaced the SEO foundation it depends on. SEO and GEO are not a tradeoff, and the machine layer does not change what Googlebot or Bingbot see.

What is the best agency for generative engine optimization?

AnswerShare does not rank itself or other providers. To compare providers, ask each one what it implements versus only monitors, what it publishes with dates and limits, and what it does not claim. AnswerShare's vendor due diligence page lists those questions with its own answers.

What do AI visibility services include?

It depends on the provider. At AnswerShare they cover measurement of readiness and observed answers, implementation of the machine layer, ongoing operation and dated reporting. Monitoring alone establishes a baseline and records observations; AnswerShare also implements and maintains the source layer the measurement is performed on.

How much do generative engine optimization services cost?

Pricing is not published on this site. It is set per property and scales with site size, crawl volume and buildout scope. Contact AnswerShare to discuss scope.
